Privacy Policy
Memorypad is designed to be a quiet, local-first writing app. This policy explains what information may be collected and how it is used.
Notes and Local Content
Memorypad is designed for local writing. Your notes, drafts, and plain text files are stored on your device or in the storage location you choose.
We do not need access to the contents of your notes to operate the core editor. If you choose to store files in a third-party sync folder, cloud drive, or backup service, that provider's privacy practices apply to those files.
Information You Provide
We may receive information you choose to send us, such as your email address, support requests, purchase details, bug reports, and any attachments or screenshots you include.
Please avoid sending private notes or sensitive files in support requests unless they are necessary to diagnose an issue.
Purchases and Licensing
Purchases may be handled by a third-party payment provider. We may receive limited purchase information, such as your email address, license status, payment confirmation, refund status, and transaction identifiers.
We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
App Updates and Diagnostics
Memorypad may contact update services to check for and download app updates. These requests may include technical information such as app version, operating system, device architecture, IP address, and request timestamps.
If crash reporting or diagnostics are added, they will be used to understand errors, improve stability, and support users. Diagnostic data should not include the contents of your notes.
Website Data
When you visit the Memorypad website, standard server logs may collect information such as IP address, browser type, referring page, requested pages, and timestamps.
If analytics are used, they should be limited to understanding site performance, downloads, and product interest. We do not use analytics to read your local notes.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide downloads, process purchases, manage licenses, respond to support, deliver updates, prevent abuse, improve the product, and comply with legal obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate the product, such as payment processors, email providers, hosting providers, update infrastructure, and support tools.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including support, licensing, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal requirements.
Your Choices
You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Some records may need to be retained for legal, tax, security, or license verification reasons.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information we handle, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Keep your device, backups, and sync accounts protected.
Children
Memorypad is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Memorypad changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
